The memorial is actually the summer villa of the Lada family, built by Josef Lada in the 1930s. In the 1960s, Mrs. Alena Ladová - Vránová donated this building to the state so that a Josef Lada museum could be established here. Since 1986, the Josef Lada Memorial has been managed by the museum - today the Regional Museum Prague - East based in Brandýs nad Labem, whose founder is the Central Bohemia Region.

The castle was first mentioned in the time of Charles IV around 1358. Until the 18th century it was used by the owners as a residence. After that, however, it was used as a warehouse and gradually fell into disrepair. Today it is home to the Museum of Carriages, Harnesses and Horse Saddles, which offers you the chance to see carriages, harnesses and accessories from many Czech and foreign films and fairy tales. With a guide, you will see the 11th century cellar, which houses a period execution room. During the tour you will visit the saddle room of film period saddles and harnesses, carriage accessories and lamps. The sleigh from the famous Czech fairy tale The Three Nuts for Cinderella is on display here.
