The museum in Pyšely was established in 1937. The main initiator was Mr. Arnošt Chvojka. The collection was diverse and included up to a thousand objects. In the 1950s, however, the museum closed down and its collections were moved to nearby museums. Efforts to restore the museum appeared in the first half of the 1990s. A permanent exhibition was set up on the first floor of a house owned by the municipality and opened to the public on 3 November 1996.
The concept of the restored museum continued the character of the original museum and focused mainly on the history of the village and the surrounding area. The individual thematic areas are based on this foundation. The museum contains the following collections: archaeological - there are exhibits documenting prehistoric and medieval settlement, numismatic, ethnographic, a collection on the history of the village - archival materials, photographs and a collection dedicated to the local native and great personality, professor, naturalist and philosopher Emanuel Rádl. The ethnographic collection contains many gifts from the citizens of the village and partly also returned collections from the former museum of Pyšely, stored in the museum in Říčany.
